Okay. So, it's contest time again!
I have one every single year, so its only fitting that this one be on my 5th anniversary. x]

Well, here we go!

[T H E M E]

Draw your original character with mine!

I know we don't all have OCs that interact, but whether they do or not -- here is a chance to draw it! You can use any original character of mine you know of, but just in case I'd ask to be sure.

[G U I D E L I N E S]

You can enter as many times as you want. It will increase your chances in the probability sense [say if three out of ten entries are yours, aside from other factors your chances of winning would be 3/10 while others would have a 1/10 chance], but you won't neccessarily get brownie points or schmooze points for entering more than once.

You can portray our characters in a romantic setting if you want, even if it's not fitting to their story. Well, really you can portray our characters in any setting you want, regardless of their relationships. It's just for fun -- get creative!

I'm fine with 'adult' themes or shounen-ai/shoujo-ai, [come on people, we all know I'm a pervert], but please nothing which is seriously "mature content".

Please color your entries, thanks.

I don't care how many characters are in the picture as long as at least one is mine, and at least one is yours.

Please no characters or fan-characters from other anime/manga/games/whatevers.

You may use traditional or digital medium. You can also do a written piece to go with your picture. If the written piece stands alone I will only accept it as your entry if it is over 3,000 words.

If our characters' stories are intertwined in some way, keep in mind that this can help you greatly. But if you use a character who is unfamiliar with mine and successfully make up some interesting and original story to go with your picture this will also better your chances.

[J U D G I N G]

The following things will be taken into account when I choose the winner:
-accuracy [How well you portray my character's personality and how accurately you got their appearance.]
-story [Does the picture tell a story/have a story to go with it?]
-originality [Dynamic poses/interesting expressions/reflects the artists personal charm, etc...]
-chemistry [Do our characters go well together in this setting?]
-background [You will probably score higher if you attempt a background/scene rather than just give me plain whiteness or colors. If your background is simple for a legitimate reason, of course that's okay.]
-aesthetics [Overall art skill will be somewhat taken into account. As will colors, outfits, details, style, etc]
-effort [Um. Please try. Even if you think your art is "not great", you will do well and have a great chance of winning if you put in a good effort.]

I do not feel I'll need a guest judge, but if I do I'll only call on my real-life friends who don't know any of you, or much about DA for that matter, and who I feel won't be biased in any way.
Also, I know many of my friends are entering this contest, but I'd like to think I am mature enough not to let this affect my judging in either way. I will not go easy or hard on my friends. Please respect me and don't make any comments or accusations about this. (:

[C H A R A C T E R S]

I have many characters. A lot whom you've never met. Too many for me to be USEFUL and fetch you names, personalities, and references for all of them, but here are some. Still if you have any inquiries about any of my characters please just feel free to ask. I'll answer anything and everything about my characters.
I'm more than willing to find a reference or tell you about my characters' color schemes, clothing styles, postures, mannerisms, etc. Don't be afraid to ask. By telling you these things you wish to know, it will assure that your entries are more accurate and interesting, which will benefit us both.
Also if you're looking for a certain look or personality type, just state which and I'll tell you which of my characters best fit your description.

Taco:[link] [link] [link] Taco is very kind and good-natured. He's not at all stupid but he does get a little blinded by innocence and optimism. He's really headstrong and caring, and not very good at being objective. Still he's actually very strong and intelligent. He'll always help someone with no questions asked and will openly show how much he cares for someone as much as he can. His manner of dress is a sort of mix between casual and formal/professional. He likes button up shirts and sweatervests or just regular vests, but say with jeans and sneakers, occasionally a tie or something. On rare occasions he'll be super casual, like when he's just hanging out at Rain's house or something. His hair is white and his eyes are blue.
Christian: [link] [link] Christian has black hair and brown eyes and quite frankly he dresses like a homeless man. He's all for fingerless gloves, but when he's not wearing gloves he's got writing all over his hands. He's not social and kind of a weirdo, but his "sexy silent type"demeanor and natural good looks make him popular with the ladies. In all honesty he's not a very nice person and he tends to be bored or sleepy half the time.
Hein: [link] [link] He's got brown hair and brown eyes and dresses like a regular guy I guess. Sort of sporty maybe? He himself is a really nice guy, super friendly but not necessarily kind. He gets along with everyone but has a lot of trouble opening up to people for real. Sort of like he's superficial? But really he's just afraid of letting people in. He has a thirst for adventure and is a hopeless romantic, but he's at first afraid to pursue these things because he doesn't want to be let down. Later on he learns to take risks and do what his "heart tells him to do".
Kalisto: [link] [link] [link] Kalisto is somewhat high strung and cold. He's easily annoyed, but he's a good person and a hard worker. He doesn't like people or anything much, or at least acts like he doesn't, so he usually doesn't talk to people. When he does interact with people he usually acts formal, uninterested, and sometimes a little patronizing to people who he finds a nuisance. Even if he doesn't like most things or people, he does go out of his way to help them, though he's too stubborn to admit to that. He's usually dressed in really nice clothes like button up shirts, vests, and ties. And he's got purple hair and gold eyes.
Felix: [link] Felix is such a homo, except that he's not a homo. He's very straight [aka incestuous for his sister wtff]. BUT yeah he wears tightish clothes, generally in bright colors. He's very kind and friendly, and never wants to let people down or disappoint. In this way he can be somewhat of a pushover, always saying things in the nicest possible way, trying desperately not to offend. However he does have another personality when a guy is talking to his sister or anyone is being mean to her, he gets very protective and angry. But usually Felix is all bashful and full of smiles and kind things to say. He's got white hair and blue eyes. UM. And he's a unicorn.
Dusan: [link] [link] As for Dusan, he's very dreamer-y and is often reticent and somewhat bored. He's not mean, but he's not nice either. He will make smart remarks and laugh and tease people with no shame, but he never will flat out insult people. He's usually just looking bored or contemplative. He either wears his school uniform, or his casual clothes, which are basically sweat pants or cargo pants, and some tank top, usually all splattered in paint. He doesn't wear shoes often either ahah. He has blonde hair and brown eyes.
Yorick: [link] Hmm. Yorick, let's see. He's got dark mahogany brown hair, green eyes. Umm. He's an actor, and a very cunning intelligent person. He's somewhat arrogant or self absorbed, though at least not too ignorant. He's mostly just teasing and cocky and thinks he can get away with anything because of his status-- but a lot of it is just to test people. He likes people who won't let him walk all over them, so he's purposefully annoying. He's very aloof and playful, often smiling, failing to take things seriously. He's a bit immature in that he chooses to ignore problems and only see fun and good in things. Aside from his school uniform [see Dusan's first ref] he usually dresses in form fitting "trendy" clothes, but since he's a cocky jerk who thinks he looks good in everything, it doesn't really matter haha.
Blaine: [link] [link] Blaine is a womanizing man douche. Seriously. He's "hot" and "cool" and he's disgustingly arrogantly aware of it. He does whatever he wants and pays no respect to anyone, and is somehow able to play out just about any situation as the cool guy on top. Things go his way almost always, because he makes them. He smokes and drinks and parties and skips school and is a total ass hole. But somewhere in him is a caring decent person. Um. Just like, really, really deep down. Haha. He has dark brown hair and greyish eyes.

Rain: [link] [link] [link] Brown hair, hazel green eyes. She's very dreamy and hopeful, but also very downtrodden and a little pathetic. She's got low self esteem and a sad life behind her and she dwells on it rather than trying to make it better. She dresses very "trendy" and "pretty" I guess you could say.
Estelle: [link] [link] Umm. Red hair, grey eyes. She's super shy and polite, and also has low self esteem though not quite in the way Rain does. Rain doesn't like herself and thinks others don't like her, Estelle just worries that she is entirely invisible. But she opens up later on, and has a good heart.
Eloise: [link] [link] [link] Green and purple hair, purple eyes. Eloise is clever and tricksy, and very ms. curious-alice-in-wonderland-type. She's actually despite her sharp tongue and cleverness really really rash and headstrong, and often her plans flop or she gets in too deep. Also, she overestimates her confidence and bravery when in truth she can get easily frightened and overwhelmed, thus ending up a little helpless. She likes pretty clothes, especially most things lolita style.
Devyn: [link] [link] Black/purple hair, green eyes. Devyn is mildly schizophrenic and suffers from amnesia/dissociative personality disorder [amnesia because she doesn't remember her past, dissociative because she doesn't believe she has a past]. She has an irrational fear of women due to being beaten by her mother, which causes her to charade as a boy. She's socially awkward and sometimes says weird or rude things not meaning to. She has good intentions though. She can be sort of shy, and is really frail. She usually wears baggy clothes, specifically boy/boyish things. Though she does like to wear shorts on the...shortish side, even though that's not very manly...O:
Lu: [link] [link] [link] White hair, blue eyes, [pinkish purple horn?]. Hahaha. Lu is really sweet, but incredibly childish and stupid. She's happy go lucky and overly friendly. Some of the happiness and joy is an act since she doesn't want people to know she's at least smart enough to feel bad about being such an idiot.
Salem: [link] [link] Pink hair, blue eyes. Salem is a serial killer hahah wtf I dunno. She's also an ex prostitute haha slash homeless bum. She's super snappy and sleazy, always with something witty to say or some sexual innuendo to throw out there. She's basically just a sadistic crazy whore. With a very deep hidden kind, sentimental, and caring side.
Mylene: [link] [OTL WHY IS THAT MY ONLY REF] Black hair, blue eyes. Mylene is pretty... Normal. She's not really "kind", but neither is she "catty". She's not particularly extraverted, but she's not shy at all. She's an aspiring model [ahaha I based her a little of Asano, SORRY I FAIL] and she's got drive and determination. She wants to have friends and succeed in life, especially as a model, but she just doesn't feel like she was ever the "main character" type. She has trouble showing her true colors, often appearing too polite, reserved, and a little bland. In the rare times when she opens up though she loves to laugh and smile and go a little crazy.
Gabriel: [link] Red hair, umm, shit, I forgot what color eyes. For some reason I think blue? or was it brown. OTL. Anyway....fail. Gabe is super sleepy. She stays up late editing film cause she ... loves film. So she's always sleeping on and off during the day. She can be quiet, but she's not shy. She has random flashes of genius which take people by surprise. She's kind of a tomboy, dressing and acting sort of boyish.
Lacey: [link] [link] [link] Dirty blonde hair, hazel green eyes. Lacey is pretty shy and polite. She seems like a total pushover wimp, but she's actually an overacheiving strong standing moral person. She likes to do well in school, and is an over all "good person". However she can be a bit reserved and introverted, and afraid to take risks.

Keep in mind that there are more characters than these, so if you know of any, feel free to use them. I doubt that there will be any problems in choosing any of my characters. (:

So so so UM get to work, because I don't want to keep extending the contest, and quite honestly I think if I don't get 15-20 entries at least that I might lessen the art prizes. SORRY I AM A FAT SELFISH HO but I really don't want to put a lot of work into prizes if you guys aren't all that interested <3
