Woo! Maker Faire :]

Alright, so yesterday I went with my friend Cheyenne to San Mateo for today's Maker Faire. It was one million percent rad.
Well, actually, it wasn't just me and her; we went with a lot of her family's friends and three other kids- but only three people were actually paid for for our hotel room. The rest of us snuck into their room... YEAH. TWELVE PEOPLE IN A THREE PERSON SUITE. NICE.
So this morning I didn't really look at a clock, but only somewhere around ten I can imagine did we finish getting ready and walked to Maker Faire from the hotel. [It was only about a mile away from the hotel, and the traffic was really bad. We beat so many cars by walking there.]
FINALLY WE GOT THERE AND HOLY SHIT IT WAS THE MOST AMAZING THING I EVER WENT TO IN MY LIFE.
There were huge flamethrowing robots, and talking ten foot tall skull robots made out of recycled computers, and there were realistic remote controlled scale sized models of WWII tanks, and like EXTREMELY RIDICULOUSLY GIANT statues of a mand and a woman made out of those really thick metal cables.
And so much more than that. There were crazy bicycle contraption thingies, and a moving house [totally made me think of HMC] and this "flaming lotus" thing. And all of this stuff was MADE by people! And we got to talk to a lot of the makers. It was splendid!
There was just sooo much to see.
And then there was a room full of handmade and or incredibly unique crafts. I bought this cute jumper which is supposed to be one of a kind, or at least somewhat, because it was hand made. It was only fourty bucks too, which is nice for all the work I can only assume went into it.
I snagged a lot of freebies as well. There was like an entire room full of free old stuff which you could craft into whatever you wanted. I made a back out of an old shirt and a fancy napkin haha. And I even got a guy to silk screen a white chickenfish onto it [link]
And I snagged some tights and boxers from the pile of old clothes hahahah.
Ohh I also made a pin with a chicken and some buttons on it, it's pretty rad. Unfortunately I stabbed myself incessantly with my sad attempts at sewing, and burned myself with a hot glue gun. Woo!
I think I grabbed every business card ever, cause I loved everything so much.
I especially loved this one artist I saw, Wendy Allegree, but I can't seem to find her on DA, so she must not have an account.

Ohh and there was another artist I loved. Jenine Bressner. She made the most beautiful glass beads and such.

Oh gee, it was just really altogether fantastic. I cannot wait to go again next year. Really.
[edit] My best friend Alex just joined DA like, probably a half hour ago? Haha.
